Best practice inspection in Centix
Where previously cordless power tools with charger and battery(s) were registered as one set, the various parts are now registered separately in Centix. This has two causes:
- The battery charger has a different standard than the cordless power tools
- Most customers standardize cordless power tools, which means that there is interchangeability of batteries and the use of the charger is therefore for different cordless power tools.

Battery charger
The battery charger is tested in accordance with the in your country applicable standards for electrical inspection with a device tester (also called a PAT tester). In general, the complete test is carried out with the PAT tester. In the Centix OnSite App a selection code indicates that the charger has been tested. At a later time (usually at the end of the day), the PAT tester is synchronized and the measurements processed in Centix. Because a selection code has been placed on the charger via the OnSite App, any errors in processing (such as incorrectly typed object ID on the PAT tester) can easily be found.
Cordless power tools
In Centix there are standard maintenance and inspection plans for the approval of the most common types of cordless power tools. This is because the inspection points on an angle grinder are very different from those on a crosscut saw. The inspection of cordless power tools is done visually and, if necessary, with a functional test. With a QR code sticker that uniquely identifies the object, you can easily use the Centix OnSite App to inspect the cordless power tool. You start the inspection and go through the predefined questions quickly. If there is a deviation, you can easily take a photo and add a note. Common deviations can even be selected from a list.

Batteries
Often customers have standardized their tools and share batteries between tools. Then the batteries are separately registered in Centix. Sometimes a maintenance and inspection plan is added to a battery for visual inspection. Our advice is to always register a battery in Centix to keep a complete overview of your tools.
