Centix online users

A user is a person who has access to Centix Online because he has: a username, password and a security role. Depending on the assigned security role, a user has ‘limited’ rights or ‘modify’ rights appropriate to his interests and/or activities.

In practice, the following applications are most common:

  • A customer who can view the master data of their own ‘objects’ and download certificates or manuals via the Centix OnSite App or Centix Online.
  • An employee who can view the master data of their own objects via the Centix OnSite App or Centix Online, who can download certificates or manuals, inspect or move objects and many more functionalities.
  • A third party, in the form of a partner or supplier, who can easily inspect, approve or move objects using the Centix OnSite App or Centix Online.

What are 'limited' users?

Limited users have limited rights within Centix. They do not burden the software. If a user has this security role, the user has no access to back office and administration screens. What this type of user can see are the front office and normal screens. For example, the limited users are allowed to submit quotes and orders, but they cannot process return orders. The limited user role is mainly used for customer portals, where the logged-in user is only allowed to view the state, manual or inspection certificate, for example. The different rights of a limited user are shown below.

A limited user has rights to:

Among other things, a limited user has no rights to:

You can create an unlimited number of limited users in Centix and have them log in (simultaneously), at no extra cost.

What are 'modify' users?

Different from the limited users are the ‘modify’ users (in computer language: concurrent users). These are the users who work in Centix Online and carry out changes. If a user has the security role modify user, then – depending on the settings – this user has access to the normal, front office, back office and administration screens. This type of user does ‘burden’ the system. Because modify users burden the system, this security role works with user licences. An unlimited number of the so-called modify users can be created in Centix. Can all these modify users log into Centix ‘simultaneously’? Yes, they can, because we believe it is extremely important that our customers can continue their work anytime, anywhere.
