Centix Smart Work
Centix Smart Work is the central platform for carrying out work digitally within Centix. From a single, user-friendly app, engineers, inspectors, drivers and other field workers always have access to their up-to-date schedule, assigned tasks and all the information they need to complete their work efficiently.
Whether it’s a work item, work order, transport order or picking list, all scheduled activities are immediately available in the app. During execution, you can easily record hours worked, travel time, materials used, photos, documents, inspection results and digital signatures. All information is automatically synchronised with Centix Online, ensuring planners, the back office and field workers always have access to the latest information.

Planning
Organisations using time-based planning have access to a clear weekly schedule. From the planning, you can open assigned work orders and immediately access all the information required to carry out the work. If the planner makes any changes, they are synchronised automatically, ensuring you always work with the latest schedule.
Work order
Open a scheduled work order directly from the Schedule. Within the work order, you’ll find the underlying work items containing the tasks that need to be carried out for each asset. Start the work order by tapping the play icon, then complete each work item individually. Once all work has been completed, simply finish the work order by tapping the flag icon.
Work item
A work item contains all the information required to carry out a specific task. Open the required work item from the work order or the tasks overview and start work with a single tap. From that moment onwards, time recording starts automatically. Within the work item, you can easily record the work carried out, materials used and inspection results. Once the work has been completed, stop the work item and all recorded information is automatically linked to the work order.
Maintenance and inspections
Carry out maintenance and inspections with ease using Centix Smart Work. Open the inspection directly from the work item and complete the digital inspection checklist. If a deviation is identified, simply select a predefined deviation, add marked-up photos and comments if required, and continue the inspection. All findings are automatically recorded against the work item and are immediately available within the work order.
Time recording
As soon as an engineer starts a work item, time recording begins automatically. When the work item is completed, the end time is recorded automatically, after which you only need to tap ‘Save’. This minimises manual input, allowing engineers to focus on their work. If your organisation uses multiple labour types, the appropriate labour type can easily be selected.
Materials
Easily record the materials used during the work. Materials can be taken from the engineer’s own stock location, such as a service van, or from another warehouse. All materials used are automatically recorded against the work order and, depending on your configuration, can be charged to a project or included on the customer’s invoice.
Tasks
In addition to time-based scheduling, Centix Smart Work also supports a tasks overview. Here, work items and work orders are displayed in a predefined sequence. This is ideal for organisations that work with a flexible or sequence-based planning process. Depending on how your organisation is configured, you can work with the planning, the tasks overview, or a combination of both.
Activities
Many tasks are carried out repeatedly. That’s why predefined lists of common activities can be configured for each work item. Engineers simply select the appropriate activities, reducing unnecessary typing and ensuring work is recorded more quickly and consistently. These lists can be fully customised to suit different activities, asset types or inspections.
Messages
With messages, you can easily send emails to predefined contacts, such as the planning department or team leader. The major advantage is that all relevant information about the work order, work item and associated asset is included automatically. This eliminates the need to copy information manually and ensures the recipient immediately has everything needed to take the appropriate follow-up action.
Loading & unloading
The loading & unloading function provides a clear overview of the materials and products that need to be loaded or unloaded. This ensures field workers know exactly which items to take with them and which unused materials or remaining stock should be returned to the central warehouse afterwards. Many organisations use a crate system, where materials are prepared in advance and returned easily using Centix Logistics.
