Best practice inspecting in Centix

Quickly and easily perform both the visual and electrical inspection with Centix. Below is an explanation in five steps of how a combined inspection, the visual and electrical inspection, of power tools is carried out.

1. Identify the tool

Each object in Centix has its own QR code sticker. With the help of the QR code you directly identify the tool with a smartphone or tablet.

2. Information about the tool

After scanning the QR code, you get immediate access to the datasheet of the tool, it’s condition, certificates, and other information. From here, you start the selected inspection. The Centix OnSite App works both online and offline.

3. Visual inspection

With the standard Centix maintenance and inspection plans you can perform almost all visual inspections. For the tool, you can easily tick all the questions. Deviation? Add a note or photo. Simply mark the deviation in the photo and then complete the inspection.

4. Electrical inspection

Finally, use your PAT tester. With many PAT testers it is possible to connect a scanner so that your PAT tester can also use the QR code stickers. This saves you a lot of time and prevents errors when identifying the object. Then perform the electrical measurement.

5. Synchronise Centix OnSite App and your PAT tester

When you have completed all visual and electrical inspections, steps 1 to 4, you can synchronise the Centix OnSite App in one go. Then you upload the measurements form your PAT tester in Centix Online. The state of the inspected objects is updated and the inspection certificates become available.

For each brand, a list of PAT testers can be found. This list includes details such as reading capabilities, connection options, or additional QR code scanners that can be linked. For each measurement instrument, a simple best practice document is available. Below, you can see all supported measurement instruments by brand.

The unique numbering of objects

In Centix, unique numbering of objects operates differently than you might expect. When searching for an object using a specific number, Centix doesn’t match numbers strictly as typed. For instance, if you search for 123, Centix will also identify it within sequences like 1123 or 1231. To ensure accurate results, Centix recommends using a sufficient number of characters when entering object numbers.
