Calibration management with Centix
In many sectors, measuring equipment is indispensable. Scales, pressure gauges, multimeters and temperature meters must function reliably and accurately to safeguard quality and safety. Calibration plays a crucial role in this: it provides assurance that measuring instruments are performing correctly and remain within defined tolerances.
By calibrating measuring instruments at regular intervals, you prevent measurement deviations that could lead to quality issues, safety risks or non-conformities during audits. Proper documentation of calibrations is just as important as the measurement itself.
Centix helps organisations that carry out calibrations to record and manage their processes in a structured way. All calibration data is stored clearly in one central system, without the need for separate Excel spreadsheets or paper files.
Benefits of calibration management with Centix
- Custom calibration protocols per measuring instrument: Create calibration protocols tailored precisely to the type and brand of each instrument.
- Smart reminders: Receive automatic notifications for scheduled recalibrations, so you never miss a deadline.
- Links to reference standards: Maintain full traceability by linking each calibration to its corresponding reference standard.
- Comprehensive calibration report: After calibration, a detailed report is generated – including environmental conditions, data from the reference meter(s), as-found measurements, and, where applicable, post-adjustment measurements.
- Digital storage of measurement results and certificates: All calibration data are centrally stored and instantly accessible – ideal for audits and quality inspections.
NOVUS Special Tools: “Centix has enabled us to professionalise our inspection and calibration processes.”
NOVUS Special Tools specialises in industrial tools with a focus on high-pressure hydraulics. With the aim of creating better oversight and professionalising its inspection and calibration processes, NOVUS chose Centix.
With Centix, NOVUS manages inspections and calibrations centrally, and certificates are recorded in a clear and consistent manner. Customers automatically receive notifications when a re-inspection is required.
Previously, NOVUS worked with multiple systems, including Excel files and standalone software. According to Sander Magnin, this resulted in limited visibility and inefficient management. The transition to one central system has led to greater uniformity, improved customer support and a clearly more professional way of working.
Calibration in practice
Calibrations are carried out on a wide range of measuring instruments. In many cases, measurement values are read and recorded manually, for example for pressure gauges, torque wrenches, welding equipment and other measuring devices. In these situations, a structured and consistent approach is essential to ensure reliable results.
Organisations often have a clearly defined scope of measuring instruments for which they perform calibrations in-house. Different brands and types of measuring instruments have their own measurement ranges, test points and acceptance criteria. For example, one pressure gauge may have a range of 0–5 bar, while another type measures up to 200 bar. Centix accommodates this flexibly by allowing specific calibration plans to be defined per brand and type of measuring instrument. This ensures that measurement points, tolerances and rejection criteria are precisely aligned with the relevant instrument.
This approach ensures clear and consistent documentation of calibrations. Measurement data, procedures and results are recorded in a structured manner and can be easily retrieved, for example for internal checks or audits.
Calibration certificate
Many organisations still work with fragmented calibration processes, recorded in Excel files, paper records or separate systems. Centix brings all this information together in one central platform.
After a calibration has been carried out, all measurement results are recorded immediately. Based on this data, Centix automatically generates a complete and structured calibration report. This report includes, among other things:
- details of the measuring instrument
- the applied calibration procedure
- the reference standards used
- environmental conditions
- measurement results before and, where applicable, after adjustment
Thanks to digital reports and central storage, calibration data and certificates are always readily available. This reduces administrative workload, saves time and makes it easy to demonstrate compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Customer portal for calibration data
Centix offers a customer portal that allows end users to easily access their calibration data. Customers can view and download calibration reports and certificates, as well as consult the complete history of their measuring equipment. This ensures transparency, clear communication and less manual exchange of documents. As a result, organisations and their customers always have access to up-to-date, complete and clearly organised calibration information.
