Easily and quickly identify your tool, equipment, machine or installation with the Centix OnSite App. By using QR code stickers you reduce the number of actions when creating or identifying the object. Suitable for inspections, issuing from the warehouse, but also for submitting service requests.

QR code applications in practice
Printing batch QR code stickers
Print an entire ‘batch’ of stickers from Centix and hand them out to your staff. They can use these stickers in the field to identify new objects and creat them in Centix, even when working offline. Also the printing of a ‘batch’ QR code stickers and not per piece works a lot more efficiently. Simple and flawless identification of your object and always access to the correct information.
Create new objects
Scan a new QR code sticker and quickly and easily create a new object in Centix. Often used by inspectors and mechanics in the field. But also by equipment and warehouse managers.
Identify existing object
Scan the QR code and open the object to view the datasheet or (depending on the settings) get instant access to manuals, instruction videos or inspection certificates. It is often used by inspectors who identify the object with the Centix OnSite App or a scanner which is connected to the PAT-tester. In the rental sector this is also used for the issuance of rental equipment.
Move objects
Scan the QR code and see the object location and move it directly with the Centix OnSite App. For moving equipment or tools to, for example a warehouse, project, vehicle or people. Often used by equipment managers or warehouse staff.
Create service requests
Do you want to report a malfunction or service request quickly? Scan the QR code and the browser opens a form where you can enter your findings. Here you can also add photos and even videos or soundclips to illustrate the request. The form results in a workflow item which contains all the information. Depending on system settings, also people without a user account can create a service request. This is often used by service organisations.
How does it work?
1. Scan the QR code
Each asset gets its own QR code in Centix. Using the QR code, anyone can directly identify the asset with a smartphone, even without the Centix apps. This allows the user to view the correct information about the asset. It is also possible to connect a scanner to many PAT-testers, so that a lot of time is saved during the electrical inspection!
2. Asset information immediately available
Scan the QR code and open the object to view the datasheet or (depending on the settings) get instant access to manuals, instruction videos or inspection certificates. What is visible per user can be set at system level, so that you can determine which information is visible. You can also create a service request by scanning a QR code.

3. Detailed information for authorised users
Authorised users with an account can access the Centix OnSite App. The user sees the data of the asset such as condition, inspection data, certificates, location and other information. You can easily carry out maintenance or inspections on the asset and it is possible to move assets to other locations. No internet available? No problem! The Centix OnSite App also works offline, so that your work can be carried out without internet connection. Synchronise later when internet is available again.
The unique numbering of objects
In Centix, unique numbering of objects operates differently than you might expect. When searching for an object using a specific number, Centix doesn’t match numbers strictly as typed. For instance, if you search for 123, Centix will also identify it within sequences like 1123 or 1231. To ensure accurate results, Centix recommends using a sufficient number of characters when entering object numbers.
Renumber your assets
Often the old numbers are still engraved in tools or equipment. We advise never to engrave numbers because you damage the housing of your tool, but to work with QR-code stickers. Are you a new customer or do you have Centix Office? Then we renumber.
What we do is put the ID in the barcode field. Centix has a specially developed script for this. We align the ID and barcode field so that it equals the engraved number. We then developed a best practice implementation to support you in this. This way you can find your tools or equipment in both fields.
